.... on what’s important

Given the choice of all the countries of the world - I’ll stay put, right here in our Union of States  No matter what our differences ....  We some how come back together when we need to ... when it matters.  Is it by God’s design? I believe so, yes. Our country, our lives are a gift to us, something to behold, to embrace and hold dear. That’s how we keep it so ...  I often here the question, ‘isn't anything sacred anymore’? Fear and Anxiety drive such decent .... understandable, I know.  But, my answer is still unequivocally- yes. Know this - that’s not how I see our culture - it’s way more personal than that. I cherish so much in life, indeed - I cherish life itself.  Thank God we have the freedoms of differing opinions and the grace to be as one when fate calls upon us.

The Enigma of Multiculturalism

The Enigma of Multiculturalism That there is no distinction between foreign persons illegally entering the United States and lawful immigration is an Enigma to me. In my very early twenties one of my job duties was going door-to-door collecting weekly insurance premiums from first generation Polish immigrants in Hamtramck, Michigan. That was my first experience with large numbers of immigrants. They were wonderful people. Their yards were well maintained and US Flags flew on nearly every porch. Their dreams had come true. They had arrived in America and worked hard to assimilate; they wanted to be American. They ensured that their children learned English. They took part in civic events, civic duty and volunteerism. And, they did these things without sacrificing their heritage. By the way, I love perogies. I contrast that experience along with several immigrants I've met over the years with the current political debate raging in the State of California specifically, but a...

If we erase our borders and citizenship means nothing ...

Crazy Tax

What if I told you that punishing a successful company with Taxation was a fool‘s errand ... because ... we need the jobs and it’s us that pay those burdensome taxes? Yup, consider the logic - classism seeks to heap the misery on businesses - that’ll fix their wagons! Ummm ... except for that little problem we often refer to as MATH.  It’s just math ... if a company is, at the very least, breaking even .... guess who pays the burdensome and punishing tax? You guessed it, wh oever purchases that company’s services or products. That’d be You and me. Nice job!  Let’s Take it from the top ... punish the company, make them uncompetitive in the global market .... while we pay the burdensome tax.  That’s as absent of common sense as the multiple layers of tax we’re already unwittingly paying as citizens - not to mention - the death tax.  Stop the press! .... what would our founders say!?

Your Spirit Built America

Most people feel genuinely good for a job well done - even when or maybe because that job required such hard work, determination and sticktoitiveness. Given that undeniable fact, we’ve gotta wonder - how’d the politics of entitlement and victimhood, of receiving more for doing less ... become popular with so many?  Are you a hard worker - working smarter while understanding the path forward is sometimes trial and error? Seriously, do you have a plan for building your future?  Are you ready and able to stick to your vision with rugged fortitude and unyielding perseverance?  Do you see obstacles in your path as pebbles instead of boulders knowing they're barely a challenge for your wit and work ethic? If so, this common sense moment is for you!  It’s your spirit that built America and blazes the path forward. Thank you!

Self Reflection

Folks, as a society we need to pause for self reflection. Each act of mass murder sees predictable reactions from both sides of the divide. Each hoping the aggressor is from ‘the other side’.  Hoping the act of insanity will damage the opposition.  I’ll save the ‘house divided’ speech for another time.  We must move beyond politics, beyond the obvious ‘what and how’ cliched debates; guns, trucks, knives, bombs, fire, etc.  We must stop the bickering over method and begin the process of understanding why these atrocities are committed.     We have a problem and it’s not going to resolve itself. We must set aside our biases and take a long look at the real problem - for starters - our mental healthcare industry has become the concern of billing hours, hurry up and wait and liability over diagnosis, rehabilitation and cure.  It’s going take more than political rhetoric to fix these problems. And, I cannot think of a better time than now...
